I am an experienced network / systems administrator looking to move toward more software development. I have a rich work history including 10 years U.S. Air Force. I have worked in many levels in organizations and excel in both single as well as team roles. My perfect opportunity right now would allow me to grown my skills as a developer while continuing my responsibilities at my current 9-5 job.
When I started at Senox they had three email accounts and no internet in any of the 9 branches, in 2007! They are now a vigorously growing leader in the Rainware Industry. With 19 locations and three manufacturing centers compared to the one previous. I have brought this company into this century despite near non-existent budget. I am very skilled in break fix, network administration, and desktop support. The company has a windows domain that includes the datacenter with a 1/2 cabinet of virtualized servers. I have been and am the sole systems administrator and we almost never farm any of that work out.
Supported clients all over central Texas. Lots of support to smaller workgroups and many server deployments. Communication and customer support were at a premium. I was one of the most requested techs by customers we supported. In addition to keeping customers informed on the progress of their systems I had light web admin duties including content updates, cpanel and domain administration. Of course anytime I was not on site I was helping with the bench work.
Was picked as one of three out of a pool of 40 to work in the push to talk and SMS division. Was responsible for executing test cases again production code on an HP unix system. We used the Mercury test system. Extensive use of SQL and updates to test cases. Excellent time management to accommodate the rapid code update cycles.
Was instantly promoted to tier 2 in support of a auto dealership CRM platform. Was known as the SQL resource in tier 2 and frequently finished tier 3 overflow work. Often was asked to handle to most demanding car salesmen problems with the CRM system.
I love reading of any kind. Music is very important to me as well. I enjoy time with my family and running / walking Austin’s parks.
I spend a large amount of my free time exploring the latest technology advancements in the front-end web development world.
